Re: Balance bridge marking
In Response To: Re: Balance bridge marking ()

: Peter, thank you and: you're right, as a
: non-native speaker I had problems to
: understand what you meant. Sorry for not
: asking immediately. Now I checked the
: balance bridge/cock of the Zodiac, but
: sorry, no markings there. The only watch I
: own, marked at the cock with three letters
: (HXW) is my old Helbros Chrono with a Venus
: 170 movement. Anyone told me (years ago..)
: that HXW means manufactured by Helbein
: Frères & Co., Geneve. Helbros (Helbein
: Bros.)was their US-Label. And , I hope
: remembering correct, these three-letter
: marking should have been used by the Swiss
: manufacturers for intercontinental
: (US)export watches only. And due to former
: times import regulations of the USA, they
: had to sent a parts watch to be built
: together in USA. But I'm not really sure
: about this. Maybe anyone of the community
: can help??

My 2 cents, your correct pretty much. HXW You got it on the nail head as thay say in the USA.
Dont worry about not understanding what I meant. I have to tell you I look at things I wright in the last years and I dont know what I mean ether. Sorry about that.
Too bad no Cock Letters. I will look at my GMT Zodaic and see if it has any marks on the cock. when I get a chance.
