Three Photos / Heuers in Strange Places ? ? ?

thanks to Jorge for sharing this great story. these are the stories that keep us looking -- on the internet late at night, in the flea markets, at the garage sales, for the old shopkeepers. These old watches can turn up in some interesting and unexpected places.

Can anyone else share a story about a Heuer that has shown up unexpectedly? where you didn't ecpect to find it? when you weren't even looking?

Here are some additional photos from Jorge.

: Jeff asked me to tell you guys my story: I have
: recently moved to South America and was
: doing a little traveling around when I was
: in a small town in southern Brazil. I had
: finished eating breakfast and decided to
: take a walk around town. After a little
: while I came across this small jewelry store
: on the main drag and looked in their window
: and saw several watches, while I was looking
: at some of these watches I noticed in the
: back corner was the Heuer Monaco. At first I
: though it must be a re-issue but when I
: looked closer at it I realized it wasn't. I
: nearly fainted. I went into the store and
: found the owner and asked him about the
: watch. He told me he sold Heuer watches in
: the early seventies and this one had never
: sold becauswe it was "too big".
: Well of course after hearing the story I
: bought it. It came with the original box but
: he couldn't find the paperwork for it
: unfortunatly. The watch is in mint condition
: exept for some really tiny scratches from
: "case wear" ie. putting the watch
: into and out of the show case for 30+ years.
: I am going to try to post a pic of the
: watch. If it does not show up email me and I
: will try to send a pic.

: Thanks
: Jorge
