Re: carrera sub dial?
In Response To: carrera sub dial? *PIC* ()

Hi Graham,

also saw this Carrera on the net and asked the seller, whether the dial is genuine or not. Especially the basic-colour of the subdials (seems to be black, poor photo) was suspect to me. A later model of the Automatic Carrera has a blue dial with black subdials. So the named question arose. The seller answered, that the subdials are the same blue as the dial itself and it should be genuine to the watch.

As Chuck and Matthias wrote in their fantastic article 'Heuer Carrera: A brief overview: Then, now and the future', ...'One of the interesting things about Heuer is that....they were seemingly always experimenting with the looks of their watches....'.

According to this, and unless otherwise adviced by the real specialists (not me), maybe that Heuer experimented with the Autavia subdial look on the Carrera? Another way to find out the truth is to get the dial in your hand and get it inspected directly.

I decided not to bid on this...

Keep on hunting

Martin
