Baylor = "House Brand" for Zales

I have been told that "Baylor" was the "house brand" for Zales, a Texas-based retailer that expanded to other areas of the U.S.

: I've owned a couple of Baylor-Heuers. They said
: Baylor and Heuer on the dial but never a
: Heuer signed movement. Here in Texas, the
: Baylors are quite common and can be quite
: inexpensive for what you get. Always Swiss
: movements and even seen them into the quartz
: era. Nothing past the mid 1980's.
