Re:Scott see your email Monte Carlo dash

Received the email. Nice pics of the Rally Master set. My Monte is a 1967 model. I also have a 1967 Rally Master set on my 1964 Healey BJ8, but would love to trade for an earlier set.

I tried adjusting the pusher as Richard suggested, but it didn't help. I found a guy in Kansas City who works on Montes and I've sent it off to him for service and repair. I think that there was a misalignment of a tooth on the star wheel. I let it run full circle a few times. It returns to zero when the hour wheel was on zero, but it returned to 11 when the hour wheel showed any other number.

I agree with you completely about the service, but it's the same problem...not too many people around who you want to work on them. My local "cowboy" took a Monte that was working perfectly and returned a Monte in need of repair. And he was very defensive about it. Then he wanted to charge me to repair what he had broken, as if he should be paid for a second chance to cause more damage.

Anyway, it's on its way to Kansas City right now, and hopefully will return cleaned, oiled and fully functional.

Scott
