Greetings:

I just inherited a Heuer 1163V from my dad and have a few questions. I've done a some research to get some background on the watch, but it has raised some intersting questions in my mind. According to the info I've found, this model was offered by Viceroy cigarettes as a premium. My dad said he purchased the watch directly from Sporty's Pilot Shop in the early 70s for $225.00. I wonder if there were "Viceroy overstocks" sold in retail stores? Question: Was this watch considered water proof/resistant? I've had the crystal buffed, gently cleaned it, and installed it on a new band. It is "cherry," I'd like to wear it daily (Carefully!) to remind me of my dad, but not if it's too "fragile." Thanks in advance for any info you could provide.
