Opening the Airmail Box *PIC*

Sometimes ebay can be really frustrasting. You see the listing, everything looks good, you exchange mails, try ask everything relevant, but when the moment of truth arrives and you open the box, and get past the bubble wrap to the watch, it is a big disappointment. The watch in the metal does not look so good. Or the case finish is not as good as you hoped. Or the crystal is wrong....etc.

But sometimes it all comes together beautifully. This is my latest purchase. I sort of bid a bit last minute without full research. It's not a watch I know well. I had extra photos but the seller did not have a very high rating. I might have overpaid. All recipes for disaster.

But when I opened that airmail box it was just amazing. Condition was better than I expected. I also got a really cool 70s looking Zenith box and papers. I'm not really a papers guy, but I just loved the computer punch card input guarantee slip.

And the watch is just fantastic in the metal. Always heard of lots of guys raving about this model but in photos it just looks ...OK, quite nice. In the metal it is fantastic, right up there with my favourites now.

So good luck to you all when you next open the box.
