My advice would be to pass on it, unless you want to wear it as a beater. The old addage of buying the best your budget can afford holds well in the watch collecting hobby. There will be more watches to choose from as time passes so keep looking for the "right" one.

I doubt anyone will repair the plating on the case and then it is not as desirable as a true original finish anyway so why bother.

By waiting and searching you will learn more, become a better shopper and find what your heart truly desires, until the next "must have" watch comes along.
