Heuer Carrera Dato 12
In Response To: Spoke to Phil, the seller ()

: Since PhilWatch, the ebay seller, is located
: about a 1/2 hour from me, I took the liberty
: to call him. He did not know about our
: site/forum but I suggested he might want to
: post a reply to your question along with a
: pic of the movement to help identify it.

: He told me the dial is original and is as the
: photo shows a bit aged. He bought it from a
: local CT watch dealer who got it from
: Europe. He has no other knowledge of the
: history.

: Hope that helps. BTW, I have no interest in
: this sale and will not be bidding on it.

this watch looks absolutely genuine to me

it would seem to be a Heuer Carrera Dato 12, as you say, made in the 60s. a quick search in the catalogues on on the dash should find it.. it has a slightly weird case where the movement comes out for servicing via the front of the case, though it has a screw back.

Zodiac also marketed an identical watch (except for the signatures)

i think the extra Gubilin signature is from a German or Swiss jewlers.

hope this helps
