Another question could be whether these serial numbers on these watches contain certain hidden data and do not only represent the serial number.

I know this from the automotive industry. E.g. the number 98253442 does not necessarily mean that this is the 98053442th sample, but could mean that this is the 3442th piece which has been produced in Feb 1998 in plant 5.
This of course is just a random example.
If Heuer has used such a system and we would find out its meaning we could make a production estimate by finding the highest serial number of a certain type ( let;s say the 1133B) within our group of collectors.

Jeff, would you know whether these serial numbers include codes as well?
