All the automatic Autavias have a ratcheting / clicking bezel. The later ones are uni-directional; most of them are bi-directional; all of them "click".

Maybe someone can suggest how it happened; how to repair . . . but I can confirm that if it is an automatic Autavia, it should be clicking.
