Can anybody ID... *PIC*

this older Leonidas (I apologize, but the Leonidas forums somehow didn't survive the acquisition)? I haven't taken the caseback off yet (waiting for the tool - I'm afraid I'm going to mess it up using any other blade) but I'm guessing this is going to have to land in the early to mid 60s somewhere. I know Heuer bought the company in '64, I'm just not sure if they continued to use (solely) the Leonidas name post-acquisition.

I grabbed the watch on ebay for relatively short money and this thing looks like it was worn only a few times. No scratches, no dial decay, maybe even the original strap (I have the original box from the jeweler as well). I doubt the caseback has ever even been removed from the look of it, and it's keeping great time in the day that I've had it. If the dial didn't say Leonidas I'd suspect an overhaul/redial.

I hesitate to draw too many comparisons to the Carreras of the era, but I can't help it given the style. From what I've read the Carreras were introduced in '64, so I'm having trouble reconciling this one.

Any info would be appreciated. I'll be popping the hood in the next couple of days and can post more pictures then, so if anybody wants to guess at the movement/inscriptions feel free.

-Mike
