Questions Carrera 12 Gold

I just bought a three register Carrera 12 Heuer Gold Chrono, however I could not find a lot of information in the web. The watch has a golden frame but a metal floor and is similar to the 2447 models.

It states on one side:
GOLDFILLED G20EPSA
2448

on the other side:
120381

actually, the watch is in very good conditions however it has a plastic!! glass which does not seem to really hold.

Questions:
1-Are these serial numbers OK?
2-What was originally used instead of plastic-glass and can I get it somewhere?
3-What is a watch like this aprox. worth?

Thanks a lot for any feedbak!

Tobias
