Thanks very much for all the information, it's much appreciated. Essentially I've been given the watch with the option to buy if I can get it working. The current owner knows I love late 60's /70's designs and thought I'd be interested in the Heuer.

From what you're saying if a new battery doesn't get it going it's module that's shot and the watch is pretty much beyond hope. Such a shame as it's a great looking case and bracelet, in very good condition. The fact that it's a military issue piece just adds to my frustration if I can't get it working. Oh well, these things come to try us!
