The "stars" of the era (Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, etc.) seem to get so much more attention, but I think the other guys in the field were more interesting in many ways -- Elford, Siffert, Hulme, Rodriguez, etc. I don't know much about Vic Elford. Below is a link to his "official" website, which looks very interesting.

Racing was so much more dangerous in those days. Many drivers were killed, whether the stars or the back-markers. Some of these drivers retired from Formula One at the peaks of their careers, and are still around today, on the vintage circuit or teaching younger drivers.
