you have a great looking Camaro!! If it were me, I wold leave it exactly as it is. Maybe you could switch out the dial, but you point out that this is the rarest version, and you are unlikely to find this same dial. Any "lesser" version of the dial will cost you in value, both sentimental and financial. Most serious collectors would counsel against refinishing this (or any other) dial.
