We launched OnTheDash on February 12, 2003, at 11:42 PM (Eastern Time / GMT -5), meaning that we will be celebrating our Fifth Anniversary, this coming Tuesday. [Just for fun, the original "launch" message, sent to 81 recipients, is shown below!]

In honor of the anniversary, let's have a Scan Day / Discussion Day on the theme of where we were and what we were doing five years ago.

Here are some topics for discussion:

• What were you collecting five years ago?

• What were your objectives for your collection, thematically / size-wise / investment-wise?

• How have your preferences and objectives changed over the last five years?

• How have your internet habits changed over the last five years? Are your website destinations and hang-outs about the same or have they changed?

• Were you one of the 81 persons to receive the "launch" message? If not, how did you become involved in our community of collectors?

• What was your very favorite watch back in 2003, and where might that watch now be located?

• What will your collection look like five years from now, in 2013? More watches or fewer? What prices will we be seeing in 2013, for the McQueen Monaco, the "grail" Carrera or the standard "Viceroy" Autavia?
