Never Seen Satisfactory Paint Job on Bezel
In Response To: Heuer Autavia GMT ()

I have never seen a re-paint on a bezel that could survive any sort of scrutiny . . . in short, they always look awful (at least to my eye).

in my view, the choices are

  • to get lucky and find replacement bezel, offered on ebay (or somewhere else) [not likely, but you can always hope]
  • to find donor watch, that has good bezel, but other bad elements (movement, dial, etc.) . . . so that you can make one good one / one bad one, and sell off the bad one
  • to lead the effort to have some new bezel inserts produced, likely to be a very expensive undertaking, but one for which you will be a hero in this community and would recover your investment, over time
  • to learn to love it, the way it is

Maybe others see it differently, but that's my perspective on the bezels.
