When is a PD Orfina not a PD Orfina? When it was a Pasadena at one time...

Kinda, sorta a Heuer post...

Was going through some eBay auctions and ran across this:

What caused me to do a double take was this picture:

[and those are the enlargements, I spotted the caseback engraving from the Thumbnails]...

What we have here started life as a Heuer Pasadena [or non-Pasadena] PVD Black with 280 SL caseback and is now sporting a Porsche Design Orfina 7750 dial [perhaps even a re-dial]. Lord knows where the hands came from... Notice that the Chrono second hand is has an arrowhead point on it, Neither the Pasadena[s] nor the PD Orfina's ever used a hand like that. The Subdial hands also have black hubs, which also is very unusual.

If someone is looking for a clean PVD Pasadena Class case/bracelet and a spare 7750 movement, this might be a an interesting buy even if originality is your usual bent. Otherwise, it could be a trap for someone who is unaware of the source of the various pieces.

Buyer be aware of the facts!
