Here's one thought. If you've really got $10,000 to spend on watches, you might do better from an investment perspective buying one or two perfect examples of super desirable watches--

A Monaco and a Siffert Autavia for example

than five mid-line watches.

I think that the very best examples of the best watches are likely to appreciate the most. That's from a pure investment perspective.

I started a similar thread that didn't get much traction--the Coffee Can Heuer. You've got $2K to buy a Heuer now and bury it in the back yard for five years. The sole mission is to maximize the profit (regardless of taste since the watch is buried). Or, if you think the market will tank or stay stable, you could put the $ in a bank.
