With the Monterey Historics coming up this weekend, I can't help but post a couple of my favorite Heuers from my collection that belonged to race car drivers - back in the day. John Morton will be at Monterey this weekend, and here is the 45 Dato that he was awarded for winning the SCCA National Championship in 1970. He was driving the BRE Datsun 240Z. John went on to win two Trans Am championships, three SCCA National championships, won the 24 Hours of LeMans, and the 24 Hours of Daytona (driving a Ferrari Daytona). He won the 12 Hours of Sebring 3 years in a row! This Heuer was there every time. I got this watch from John five years ago, and he still had the original box and strap. He says he wore this watch in every race back then. Enjoy!
