OK, I'll Admit It . . . I Put in a Bid

OK, I'll admit it . . . I put in the second place bid with zero seconds remaining . . . turned out to be a nice snipe (done manually, of course), but too weak as a bid. Having studied these last week, I thought that it might be "fun" to see one of these in the metal. Another interpretation of the "poor man's Carrera".

I believe that Gubelin was a Swiss retail store, with some of their watches made by Heuer. Interesting that we have seen two of these 3641s recently -- one with Meister on the dial and the other with Gubelin on the dial. It appears that these brands wanted some of the lower-end Heuers, cheaper than the stainless steel Carreras.

: It says "Gubelin" just below the center of the
: dial. Isn't that the name of an old Swiss watch brand? Or is it
: a retailer?
