: Hi Heuer Lovers,

: just came back from the yesterday set-up on the Classic-event EIFEL
: RENNEN -race- at the nürburgring.

: Over 40 very rare Porsche race cars from the 50 ties antill the 70
: ties , 908 from steve and of course le mans winners 917 where
: their too.

: David piper ( born 1930 )was on the track with his own green
: porsche 917 , still racing ,even after losing a leg on the film
: set le mans in a accident!!

: As we where immediate neighbours standing next to each other with
: our campers on the drivers campsite, last week in goodwood , we
: met him again and talked about the fatastic event!

: Between the quallifing he had a break and he and his nice Wife sat
: down with iris and me for a half a hour to talk about those days
: in the 70 ties,
: she told me about the wonderfull and very kind jo siffert who gave
: her in 1965 a heuer stoppwatch as a birthday present! she still
: has this watch at home.

: David had alot of heuers in the 70 ties mostly carreras but he
: looses them allways and they are all gone now.
: Steve Mc Queen was a great man for him, friend and very good driver
: too, he was so kind at the le mans set and took care of david
: even later after the bad race car accident what david had at the
: set( david lost a part of his leg!). He knows steve allready
: from the le mans 1969 race and adored him too for his fantastic
: drivers skills.
: onece on the le mans set, david and derek bell had a break/ having
: a tea and suddently steve jumped out of the nothing in 3 metres
: hight with his motorcross bike over them. STEVE WAS a CRAXY GUY
: but a very good mate too.

: I ll post same pics next week of david and me in front of his 917 .

: so long, take care & happy weekend,
: jasper
