Inquiry from Reader -- Real or Fake?

a reader has sent the following photo, with the request that our readers provide information or ideas about whether this one is a genuine Heuer or a "fake".

to me, it looks like a refinished dial. this is based on the small numbers in the registers [ they look "weak" ], the strange looking "10" and the overall look of the dial. also, something doesn't look right about the "17 rubis".

but to say that it has a refinished dial is not the end of the matter. the real question is whether this chronograph was originally produced by Heuer or not. without seeing the case and movement, it is difficult to make this determination.

maybe some of our readers have a view?

thanks,

Jeff
