It is about time you had a margarita..best day is 05/05..known as el cinco de mayo, when Mexico defeated the French at the battle of Puebla in 1862..not a true Holiday, but a very good excuse to imbibe and enjoy Mexican cuisine..
Recipe is as follows;
25% fresh squeezed lime juice
25% orange liqueur ( I use a 50/50 mix of Cointreau and Grand Marnier)
50% Tequila..be sure to use a good 100% agave, otherwise you risk a cooperative tequila which will have more sugar, and that will lead to the dreaded headache in the morning..I prefer silver, as opposed to anejo or reposado..
Use a wedge of lime to rim the glass, and then put the glass rim down into the salt..thus the 'sombrero', which holds the salt..
