Hehe, this beats me to a piece I was going to do on my Jack Heuer TH Carrera and 73453S.

For me, the 40th anniversary LE is one of the nicest of the "re-editions" or whatever you want to call them. However, it is pretty much a facsimile of its 70s forebear. The pictures of the 40th edition Monaco got me thinking about this, as it is probably even closer to its inspiration.

I wondered what people think of this, as opposed to TAG-Heuer watches that are only "inspired" by the past - the Autavia re-issues being a good example. Do we prefer the watches that more or less copy some icon from the past, or those which take inspiration from model or models past and produce a modern, and different, take on it.

With feet fairly firmly in the vintage camp, I find the "copies" resonately most strongly with me.
