Another Watch for President Obama ? ? ?

The following is from the "News and Events" section of Tissot's website -- http://www.tissot.ch/?mod_news

August 19, 2009: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver, three time winner and 2008 Champion Jimmie Johnson was recently invited to the White House, along with other NASCAR Chase contenders from last season and the "King" of NASCAR, Richard Petty. This wasn’t NASCAR's first visit to the White House, as NASCAR Champions have been invited to visit the President dating back to 1978.

NASCAR leadership Brian France and Mike Helton were well prepared to meet the new President, presenting him a fitting gift for the tech-savvy world leader - a Tissot T-Touch Expert Swiss Watch.

Sharon Buntain, Brand President for Tissot U.S. said, "We're proud to be an Official Partner of NASCAR and appreciate the opportunity to present our watch to the President. NASCAR showcased a lot of its sport at the White House, and we were pleased to be a part of the event. The T-Touch was a perfect choice for President Obama and we are confident he will find the unique Touch-Screen watch very useful in his line of work."

The T-Touch watch is made by Tissot Ltd Switzerland watches, the Official Timekeeper and Watch of NASCAR and is the world's first Touch Screen watch; with features that include a compass, azimuth, barometer, altimeter, altitude difference meter, thermometer, alarm, chronograph, two time zones, date and time and much more all at the touch of a finger.

From time to time, I have checked on the syndicated photo websites (Getty, etc.), and Obama is still wearing the Jorg Gray "Secret Service" chronograph on a daily basis. Personally, I am doubting that he will make the change to this Tissot, but who can ever be sure, when our worlds of watches and politics come together. There were also stories, some months ago, that Vulcain would present Obama with a Cricket watch, as these have been worn by previous U.S. Presidents.
