Calipers on the Carrera Crowns
In Response To: Heuer Carrera Crown Sizes ()

Checking a couple of Carreras with the calipers, I find that:
  • original, unmarked crowns measure in the 6.7 to 6.8 mm range;
  • original crowns, marked with the "Heuer" shield, seems to be in this same 6.7 to 6.8 mm range; and
  • "service" (aftermarket) crowns marked with the "Heuer" shield are smaller, in the 5.9 to 6.0 mm range.
As you might expect, these smaller "service" crowns have a very different look and feel than the larger original ones.

: Would appreciate knowing the size in mm's of manual wind Carrera's.
: I bought a couple, and they are signed "Heuer" but appear
: small.
: They are 6mm and 6.3mm.
: My signed and unsigned original crowns on my watches are closer to
: 7mm
: Thanks for any help.
