The top is better artistically, the bottom is better in clarity. I really like the macro on my camera (coolpix 5000). It's nice to see everything. I am sure you could duplicate the top with the coolpix, but could you duplicate the bottom with the Canon. I'm not too familiar with the megapixels and macro functions on both.
