How many Monacos???

I was talking to a friend the other day who was telling me about his Breitling limited edition. He was saying it was limited to only 1500 pieces and it got me thinking of something I thought of a few weeks ago.

We know that about 4500 Monaco's of all types, were made between 69 and 74/5 and I've counted up 14 different denominations including 3 1133B's G/G and G/B, 1533B and G, 73633B, B/B, G/G and G/B, 74033B, G and PVD.

I would've thought that the PVD, Chronomatic, Transitional and 73633B/B were produced in the smallest numbers, maybe 100 between them???

That would leave about 4400 between the other 10 models. Does anyone know how many of the other models were produced? Simple maths gives an average of about 440 or so for each of them but I would've thought the 1133B was the biggest seller. Maybe a third of the total sales???? More, less?

So how many of the 4500 do you think survive today, how many have been lost or broken over the years? A quarter??? Working on the averages would mean that any Monaco is far rarer than any of the re-edition Monaco's or my mates Breitling.

Basically, I want to get one up on my mate and his Breitling!

Any thoughts?
