Re: Troubles for watch brands limiting AD discounts?

: Prices are obviously inflated. NASA purchased the Omega moon watch
: off the shelf in 1964 for $82. Factor in inflation and that same
: watch today should be under $1000 (US). Instead the equivalent
: item is priced at about $3000. The mark up is enormous.

You are not taking into account the change in the relative exchange rate of the Swiss Franc vs. the US Dollar over the last 45 years. It used to take over four francs to buy one dollar back in 1964. Now it's virtually even.

So $3,000 for a Speedmaster should be just about right!

Hope this helps,
