At Some Point, This Will Be Part of a Page

Jim:

When I get a spare night (or two or three), I will create a page on "The Dial Might be Refinished If . . . "

I learned something about these refinished dials the hard (and expensive) way, but it will help others avoid these mistakes.

My guess on this one is that the guy refinishing the dial was not sufficiently skilled to do the small "Abercrombie & Fitch" lettering, so he slapped a big, fat "Heuer" on it, and suddenly it becomes a "very rare" model. Also, the case (probably 1960's) is too "late" for the dial and movement (probably 1950's).

We all need to keep our eyes open, and help each other in these situations. I know some people are bothered when we post messages about "live" auctions, but I think it is justified when we are certain about the issue.
