the meaning of the single and double arrow behind the lugs..

I have seen many variations of this curious symbol. We know that the arrow stamped on the lug is a sign of improved movement,

but i don't know again the real difference between 1 or 2 arrows.

My carrera has two arrows, calibre 11-I

My siffert autavia 1163t one arrow, calibre 12 with the writing 12 in a circle.

what is the meaning of 1 or 2 arrows?
