Re: Silverstone Re-Issue . . . Origin in This Forum

Hello Forum friends,
Enthusiasm is so high for this "Collector" piece that we will advertise it in the USA in Wall Street Journal and USA Today ! Would you suggest the blu or the brown dial as flagship packshot to be inserted ? Silverstone is probably the boldest and most emblematic design of TAG Heuer story in terms of mirroring our DNA. A kind a "Square in the Circle" making the synthesis of iconic Carrera and Monaco; neither square nor round and still nowadays unique in its kind ! The re-edition is a real masterpiece with its faithfull-to-history face and its back sapphire letting see a beautiful and discreet red HEUER logo on the mass charging the Dubois-Depraz-TAG Heuer Calibre 11.

Over the weekend, I was reading an article in the February 2010
: issue of WatchTime magazine, about the new Silverstone. A
: portion of the article reads as follows: Babin reveals that the
: decision to resurrect the Silverstone was in large part due to
: the influence of the original watch's fervent fans and its
: popularity on Internet forums. "We knew we were going to do
: another reissue for the anniversary," he recalls. "The
: only question was, which one? We selected four or five old
: models and started a discussion online. When we saw the passion
: for the Silverstone, the choice was obvious." Actually,
: Jean-Christophe written about this on our forum, on December 22,
: but I think that most of us missed his message, as it was during
: the Christmas holiday week. Hi guys ! It's JC, the CEO of TAG
: Heuer. Happy to be with you again. We indeed kicked off the 150
: years of Heuer/TAG Heuer in McLaren Technology Center on Dec 2nd
: and introduced, besides the new Caliber 1887 chronograph
: movement, the stunning Silverstone Cal 11 (Dubois-Depraz / TAG
: Heuer) replicas with crown at 9:00, Heuer logo both on dial and
: on oscillating mass (in red !!!) with 2 dials: a brown and a
: blu. It's really a "WAOUH" piece and one you all
: should be proud of on Onthedash.com as the idea came from you
: when I asked two years ago.....!!!! So well done, to all our
: readers and writers . . . and well done to TAG-Heuer for
: considering the views and passion of the vintage community!!

: Jeff
