it's not scan day, but....

i got two new arrivals. the first a 1163v autavia with the open front and back pushers case style. sorry i didn't take a pic to show it...

this one's in pretty good shape (relatively speaking) except the luminous material on the 5 min. markers has fallen off and is now free wheeling around inside. i've got to take it to my watchmaker before a piece gets down in the date window and causes some real trouble.

next the carrera cal 15 1553....

cosmetically in great shape, mechanically needs an overhaul badly. suffers from a loose rotor, and has an odd ticking sound.

what i'm starting to realize is the cost upfront doesn't bother me as i budget for it, it's the maintainence fees that add up so quickly, but like taking your pet to the vet...it's worth every penny to save one of these from disappearing. hopefully i'll keep them for the next generation to appreciate and enjoy like the generation before me did.

j.h.
