Hello again guys...well, as some of you might remember I purchased a nice NOS 1533B Monaco at the November Patrizzi auction. OK...with NOS most people see a perfect watch in their thoughts...and this 1533B was just perfect, at least when you don't take the ruined dial into account. This 1533B dial suffered very much during it's lifetime from the well known issue with the oozing crystal gasket...

So my biggest concern after I received the watch safely was to find an 1533B dial in NOS conditions...or at least a dial that comes very close to a NOS one. Quite a challenge as these 1533B dials seem to be extremely rare in this small world.

Many thanks go out to the man who helped me with this. A well known, respected and longtime Heuer collector and connoisseur.

The replacement NOS dial is 100% NOS in the way that it has never been mounted on a watch-movement...but it does show some vintage patina of light corrosion around the lume-dots at hour markers and it also has a small scratch at the centre. Well...I can live with it ;-)
