Those redial Monacos just keep coming...

Quite a few fake or redial vintage Monaco watches are in circulation at the moment and at a pricepoint often close or actually over the real thing! Here is a quick roundup of two i noticed today, please feel free to email me if you have seen one you are considering buying but are not quite sure of its originality. I'm always happy to email you a quick online appraisal, usually the same day, it costs nothing but might save you thousands of pounds/dollars/euros!1st one is from chrono 24, it is a redial so although it has a nice crisp looking case the dial has open 4s, incorrect waffle markers and is just plain wrong. Certainly at this price point avoid!

Next up is this one and this is a very good re-dial compared to most and would likely fool many people. The dial looks the right colour the 4s are closed BUT and its an important BUT! Look at the lettering/script, there are no flourishes or seriphs as there should be, it is flat, also look at the painted markers on the sub registers, they should again have flourishes and go to the edge of the sub dial. Last look at the date window, there should be bevelled edges round the square opening, instead its edges are flat.

These are by no means the only two, i'd say at the moment 25-50% of all available Monacos for sale have re-dials, so please be carfeul and don't be afraid to ask on the forum or direct, these could both be very expensive mistakes!
