Tag F1 Kirium

Dear Members

Even though this is a vintage Heuer site, I have a modern Tag and would like some help.

My Tag Kirium has a sapphire crystal class which appears to be marked although I’m not sure if this is the coating on the crystal, how can it be removed. I heard taking a cigarette lighter to the crystal will remove the film, is this true?

Regards

Tim
