-3- Scratched Tachy Rings - Lack of official replacements

Many Autavia's have there sale value determined by the condition of their bezel inner (Tachy, Diver, M/H, GMT, Decompression etc). In particular some of the earlier manual wind 2446 cased GMT's with the lack of spare parts available from Tag Heuer. In an ideal world Tag would have a supply of spare parts available and an official retail outlet just as Omega does for its range of watches.

: I have been thinking recently about out beloved Heuer's and where
: they tend to break down, wear out or become damaged most often.

: It would be easy for me to form my own list and post it here on the
: forum for you to read but then i thought it might be nice to
: form a list of the most common failures together. I hope readers
: will contribute to this discussion with knowledge or insight
: from their own collecting experiences.
: I'm also hoping that some of you from the forum with more specific
: watchmaking and movement servicing skills (ie. Craig, Abel,
: Nic..etc) could give us some insight as to which movements fail
: or wear out and how difficult they are to correct.

: Could you raise a new point with a number in the subject line and
: hopefully we will be able to come up with a Top 20.

: All input appreciated and each point listed is open to discussion.
: Cheers - Darren Cal.11/12
