Re: stolen Carrera 1153,shipping from Italy

thanks f all your comments boys, looks to be an endless and very actual discussion of responsibility
makes me feel that many of you had a similar experience in your watch history,if not, happy you,but take care, you can be next.
Interesting site you found on ebay Stewart, and should be the usual behaviour for lost goods,..as f me too the seller is responsible f secure arriving(and insuring) of, especially expensive goods.
If bought out of ebay and did not pay by paypal,..then the discussion starts again(I found the carrera on ebay but did the deal out of it)
As I see its much of profit now to buy directly on these platforms, which guarantee more and more security in the deal(whatever fraud, lost on shipping,stolen,..)
In my case the seller told me that he stays very active investigating the way the parcel went and which hands it passed, which can be reconstructed with tracking nr. and countersign.
At least a little hope f me as he seems to hang on in investigation.
Will keep you informed as news arrive.
cheers to all and best regards t

: I've just been having a dig around online, and it seems that Tom
: may be able to get a refund...

: Interesting link here explaining:
:

: A snippet:

: "Just because you put "I can not be held
: responsible" doesn't make it so at all and if paid for with
: paypal and it doesn't arrive or arrives damaged the buyer is
: within every right to put in a paypal claim against you and
: claim their money back from your account."

: "If an item does become lost the buyer should be refunded
: immediately and the seller should start a claim with the courier
: / post office. The seller arranged the delivery so the contract
: with the courier / post office is with the seller. So many
: sellers seem to think that once its left their hands its no
: longer their responsibility!"

: Tom - let us know how you get on.

: Good luck,
: Stewart
