In layman's terms (which are the only terms that I can use in this context), I believe that the image will display for you, while you are logged onto your GMail account, but it will not display for other readers. I'm not sure whether Google offers a photo hosting, that will display images for other readers . . . I would guess that they do, as Google seems to offer just about everything else that can be done on a computer.

I may be wrong, but I believe that any URL to be displayed as an image should end with one of the image extensions, like ".jpg", for most of the photos that we see here.
