Chronomatic Legacy

Over the weekend I posted an article (http://www.calibre11.com/tag-heuer-movements) that looked at Heuer and TAG Heuer's use of movements over recent times and what might be coming down the track. As part of that Rich and I were swapping notes on the merits of current day ETA movements (I was going to say modern, but most are +20 years old anyway...) versus our beloved Chronomatic and it made me wonder whether the thinking/ design/ parts of that movement survived into any other movements that may still be around today.

For example, if the Valjoux 7740 is a development of the Calibre 12 (http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?md=read;id=23373), I wonder whether Valjoux and ETA then developed the 7740 into something else.

Seeing all of those ETA/ Valjoux movements in todays TAG Heuers would be a whole lot easier if any of these calibres traced their family tree back to the Chronomatic movement.

Any ideas?

Cheers
David
