: To have an MH bezel on a traditional "Viceroy" is, in
: my opinion, nothing special . . . it is a Viceroy with a
: different bezel. I like the Viceroys and have always had one in
: my collection. In some senses, these $88 watches put Heuer
: "on the map" for many enthusiasts.

: On the other hand, the "true" Derek Bell (as shown below,
: from the Haslinger collection), with the earlier dial and hands,
: is much more rare (and, to most collectors, much more valuable).

: Remember that there was (relatively) huge production of the
: Viceroys, usually with the Tachy bezel but sometimes with the MH
: bezel substituted. Whatever we call them, the earlier 1163 MHs
: were much more scarce. I would not call a standard
: "Viceroy" with an MH bezel a "Derek Bell".
