Thanks Richard, it's always good to have someone with practical experience back up what I learned at college. The dial workers had a habit of licking the brushes they were using to apply the radium lume so as to get a sharp point - how little they knew just how bad an idea that was... My baldness is hereditary too, rather than the result of messing about with cloud chambers and alpha sources!
