Some Liberties in the Art Department . . .

This catalog is a personal favorite, as it provides some great context for the Heuers . . . other famous and now-unknown brands, side-by-side with the Heuers.

Re the Autavia GMT on page 25, we have seen that the people who produced these catalogs took some real liberties, with their drawings of the watches. In the days before PhotoShop and Frankens on eBay, I believe we can say that various models and executions were created in the art department, with a straightedge, scissors, glue and some spray-mount. I believe that we also had some of this with the 7750-powered guys that we have been discussing.

There were watches never shown in catalogs, and catalog images for watches that never existed . . . part of the fun of exploring the history of these watches.

: with what seems to be an early "Derek Bell" dial in
: place, no GMT on the dial and early ridged steel block hour
: markers instead of the more GMT familiar applied lume.

: Please let us know here in the forum if you have ever seen either
