I Can Be Very Happy with 8 Years (1960s)
In Response To: Heuer 60`s or 70`s ()

I don't even need a full decade, but give me 1962 (Autavias) through 1964 (Carreras), then jump me up a couple of years to the Dato 45 Dato and the Carrera 12 Dato, and we can end the era in 1969, with the three Chronomatics -- Monaco, Carrera and Autavia. I know that I am cheating with this response, as the ones introduced in 1969 have the 1970s styling, but my preferences are simple -- manual wind Autavias and Carreras, and early automatics of the big three (Autavia, Carrera and Monaco). Most of the others from the 1970s -- Montreal, Daytona, Monza, Calculator, etc. -- are much lower on my list. The Autavias from the later 1970s are also much lower on my list, as they seem top-heavy to me. But I will take a Silverstone if you will allow me to venture past 1969, and while I have this permission, I'll take an 18 KG Carrera 1158!!

Great topic for discussion. I could be very happy staying in the 1960s!!
