I don't quite see what they were getting at when they repainted the dial either. The 30 second register "starts" at 5, counts down to zero, but then starts again at 6-30. Can't have retrograde movement on that register, so it's a 5 second countdown I suppose but I don't recall seeing an original dial configured quite like that from any manufacturer. Perhaps that was the original reason for the redial, a request to have that dial layout. Not sure they would have been happy with the result mind...
