Confused me though, is the watch you have a 1000m (meters) 980.023 or a 1000 series 980.006 (200m), two different watches......

Here is the 1000m heuer diver which i believe has an ETA 955.112 movement, the heuer 1000 series (200 meters) series that Jarl speaks of houses a ESA 536.121.

If its a 1000m (metres) then the hands will be totally different fit, the ETA 2824 are 150/90 as opposed to the ETA 955.112 120/70.
