Two truths and a lie...
In Response To: Catalogue comparison....... ()

Do you ever play that game two truths and a lie?

What is very interesting from this discussion is :

1) there is a picture of a watch with the 1163 case (pusher cutouts), 1163 hands (brushed steel) and a non-lume dot bezel in the Heuer catalog (see Jame's post). Notice that the dial of the catalog shows lume hour markers, not metal, so this is not just an "orange boy".

2) the diver style decomp bezels without the lume dot exist, and have the dimensions to fit an 1163 case/crystal

3) we know absolutely everything there is to know about Heuer's production of watches in the 1960-1970s

...all I can say is that (1) and (2) are unarguable facts. (3) is certainly a lie. If I had to guess, I would say that at the minimum Heuer planned to make or made a prototype of the 1163P....
