Re: Leonidas Chronograph
In Response To: Leonidas Chronograph ()

Very interesting Paul..

The only info I know of is this page from the Leonidas 1950s catalogue, which features a one pusher model.. it's presumably much later than your Leonidas.

: Hi all, i thought i'd post this watch for your inspection. As you
: can see it follows the '1928 german pilot watch' pattern. This
: is only the fourth of this type of chronograph that i have ever
: seen. The first being the 1 & 2 pusher flieger Heuer's, then
: a Breitling and a very similar black faced Leonidas.

: As you can see the watch isn't without it's problems. The pusher
: end cap has gone, the dial is badly damaged, and the crown tube
: has been slightly shortened to fix a replacement crown. However
: on the plus sides it seems to be an astonishing rare watch. The
: crest is that of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, probably from the
: time of King Alexander Karagjordgevic I. The name below that is
: of Milan T Stefanovitch, of Belgrade; one of three court
: appointed jewellers/retailers. This crest to my knowledge has so
: far only been seen on longines and a Rolex. The watches bearing
: this crest are believed to have been issued to the Military, and
: other Government bodies such as civil service and railways. The
: watch measures a very large 44mm

: Any info or further pictures any one has on these Leonidas
